ARTIST NOTES: Summer holidays down the Surf coast, long days spent riding waves, and watching the surf. Mesmerised by the etheral everchanging movement of water, the variance in each individual roll of a wave...capturing the fleeting moment of a wave before it descends onto the sandy shoreline. Bringing these elements together to create a piece that will enliven an interior space. Impasto and texture mediums provide the depth and sweeping motion in defining the the movement aspect of the wave. Acrylic paint infused with metallic and pearlescent elements enhance the shimmer of the wave and  the glistening sea. Capturing the essence of the ocean and bringing it into life. BLUE LINES is further embellished with a coat of resin to add the dimension of the water element, creating depth in hue, and the glistening textural shimmer enhanced using genuine clear quartz gemstones. Where is the signature?... you may be asking yourself this question, well I elect to sign my paintings on both the side edge of the canvas and in pencil on the rear, as not to interfere with the visual impact of the painting

ARTIST BIO

Belinda Aikas is an Australian born Melbourne based contemporary artist with a strong afflication with the Surf Coast

She has an extensive working career in the creative fields of Visual Merchandising and Interiors industries which inevitably developed her passion for persuing creating Art

Drawing on her experience as an Interior Decorator, she creates bespoke artworks and  commissioned pieces upon request.

With a Diploma in Interior Design and Certificate in Applied Art-Interior Decoration she is able to meet with clients in assisting them scale the appropriate Artwork for their interior space.

Primarily, inspirations derive from the glorious Australian Coastline, a lifetime of Summers (and Winters) spent at the Surf Coast along the Great Ocean Road.

Sunset vistas, long walks at the beach, swimming in the ocean, storms and rainy days...

"I am passionate about incorporating these feelings and memories, capturing the elements of those moments into my canvas artwork creations"

Her work is held in private collections in Australia and overseas.

Belinda is an experimental mixed media artist, creating seascapes, waves and modern contemporary pieces in assorted mediums including acrylics, watercolours, ink, impasto, pearlescent and metallic hues, often finishing off a painting with a resin enhancement. Her creations are diverse and varied, so one day you may see a painting of rolling wave and the next one may be contemporary, modern, bold & abstract.
