ARTIST PROFILE

 

Cesar Sanchez

 

Born in Madrid, Spain in 1934; completed studies in Graphic Design and Drawing at the Academy Martinez Pita. Moved to Germany to complete Electrical Engineering at the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 1968 moved with his young family to Australia; in 1970 studied oil painting with eminent aritist John Balmain for 6 years and with Bruce Barklamb for 1 year.

In 1989 studied pastel painting with leading artist Robin Kittelty-Redman for 4 years at the "Whistler Cottage" studio in Inverleigh, then further 3 years with internationally acclaimed artist Barbara McManus.

Cesar attended a workship seminar in portraiture at the Academy Art Centre in Honolulu conducted by Master Pastellist Daniel Greene.

He is a memeber of the Australian Guild of Realist Artist Ltd., the Pastel Society of Victoria Inc., the Sherbrooke Art Society Inc, the Peninsula Art Society Inc. and the McClellan Guild of Artist Inc.

 

Cesar has been awarded many prizes and his work has been published in the Antiques & Art in Victoria and in the prestigious Pastel Artist International Australia Show Case magazines.
