2024 Feature Artist - Glenn Hoyle

Glenn Hoyle was born in Lancashire, England in 1951. He always loved to draw and paint and at the age of 15, Glenn decided to enrol at the Rochdale College of Art and studied there for the next 3 years. After graduating, he worked as a graphic designer for an advertising agency in Manchester.

Always keen to travel, Glenn ventured overseas, visiting Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, eventually arriving on the shores of Australia in the mid-70's for a working holiday. He returned to live permanently in Melbourne in 1981.

It was here that Glenn first considered painting full time so he joined the Peninsula Arts Society, entered art shows and exhibited in local galleries. His first solo exhibition was held in Mornington and was a great success with every painting being sold.

Since 1989, Glenn has worked as a professional artist and is a much sought-after tutor, conducting art classes, workshops and demonstrations throughout Victoria.

Working in oils, watercolour and pastels, Glenn strives to capture the effects of light on this treasured land and coastline.  He has won many awards and his paintings are represented in private collections throughout Australia and overseas.
